Sarod & Scheherazade Together

Presented by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Sarod & Scheherazade is an excellent musical delight that combines the classic composition of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade and the enchanting sounds of classical Indian sarod player Amjad Ali Khan.

Inspired by the bold and courageous character Scheherazade, a female protagonist from 'One Thousand and One Nights' whose life was spared due to her phenomenal story telling abilities, Rimsky-Korsakov's symphony is both romantic and thrilling. Award winning musician Amjad Ali Khan, who is known worldwide for his amazing fast and up tempo singing style will perform alongside his sons. The Indian singer first performed in America in 1963 as well as playing with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
