The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra welcomes kids and families for a tailor-made child-friendly program, held specially in the NJPAC Victoria Theater so that everyone can get closer to the sonic action! In keeping with the ensemble's season of storytelling, the afternoon features classic tales as told through sweeping orchestral arrangements like Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, Swan Lake and, Romeo & Juliet, as well as the instantly recognisable, celesta-filled melody of the Harry Potter Main Theme.
Written by celebrated film composer John Williams, the music of the Harry Potter film franchise is the perfect example of music being integral to the story, evoking a world filled with Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, flying cars, patronuses, and of course, the thrilling saga between its titular hero and He Who Must Not Be Named. Early adventurers will also find arts and crafts, a petting zoo and other exciting activities in the lobby one hour prior to the performance.
